Our Mission

Our mission is to empower parents in their endeavor to educate their children at home; to foster the love of learning and academic excellence from elementary through graduation. We believe this can be accomplished by using the time-tested classical trivium of teaching grammar, logic, and rhetoric. In addition, we will use games, rewards, positive reinforcement, reasonable yet challenging goals, and enthusiastic, passionate, Christian teachers partnering with parents at every grade level.

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the only infallible authority for life.

We believe the Bible alone to be the word of God, the ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16)

God exists in three persons: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent; that is, He can do all things. He is omnipresent; that is, He is present to all creation and has under His immediate authority all things which are in Heaven, in the earth, and under the earth. He is omniscient; that is, He knows all things. He readily exercise His power which is present everywhere, and to Him there is nothing that is impossible or unknown, that is, He knows what has been from eternity, what now takes place everywhere, and what will be to all eternity.

Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

Believers must be regenerated by the Holy Spirit

We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. (John 4:24)

Believers are justified by grace alone in Christ alone.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Believers are sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Galatians 5:16-25)

We believe that faith will result in good works.

(Ephesians 2:10; James 1:22)

Core Values

Partnership

We partner with parents who are committed to their Biblically ordained role as the primary instructors of their children.  Liberty Classical offers classes two days per week on site that must be supplemented by supervised parental involvement on the days that students are at home.  Setting reasonable homework goals, Liberty Classical works closely with the students and parents in developing a legacy of lifelong learning.  In addition, the parents have the option of creating additional challenge and increasing workload as they deem necessary at their home.

Accountability

We understand that as homeschoolers, we are more effective when we have a support group of like-minded friends that hold us accountable to be consistent in our endeavor to educate our children.

Commitment

As we come together to help each other, we each must make commitments that we can keep for the duration of a school year.  We strive to make expectations for incoming families clear from the very beginning.  Though we understand that unexpected circumstances can arise in a year and our families come first, we strive to make commitment to each other a high priority.

The Golden Rule

The overflow of our daily relationships with the Lord should be exemplified by our behavior and how we treat others.  We adhere to Christ’s command in Matthew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the prophets.” (NIV)

Cohesive Study

As much as it is possible, at Liberty Classical we strive to streamline subject studies across grade levels.  One way we believe we can empower home school parents is by helping them have all their children focused in the same direction so instruction is easier.  This increases opportunities for older siblings to help younger siblings, and for all family members to have at their command a common vocabulary.  For this reason, we have chosen to study the same history time periods in all grade levels, as well similar science topics at varying degrees of difficulty.  In addition, there will be common Bible memory work.

Gossip Free Community

Every member of each family will sign a Family Commitment that includes the agreement that all gossip among Liberty families will be avoided.  If a dispute or concern arises within the community, we commit to go directly to the person in love and humility to work out the issue, and if it is not resolved to go to someone in leadership who will act as a mediator.

Laughter and Fun

Children of all ages long for laughter and fun to be a part of their daily lives.  Though we expect respectable behavior from children and adults alike, we encourage games and songs to make learning interesting as well as to redirect negative behavior in positive ways.  At Liberty Classical, we want to celebrate life and create opportunities in every classroom for fun and laughter that honors God.

Family Commitment

As PARENTS we agree to the following:

We commit to respecting the authority and leadership structure of the school, all of its members, and the borrowed church facility and its leadership. We will exemplify this respect by speaking kindly to each other, being willing to help at all times, expecting the best from each other, and taking all concerns directly to the board of advisors for clarity and direction. In addition, we will leave the facility better than we found it, and we will make an effort to be friendly when church staff is present in the building.

We have read Liberty Classical’s Statement of Faith and understand that it will be foundational to the teaching provided.

We commit ourselves to avoiding all forms of gossip regarding members of Liberty Classical (parents and students) on and off campus. If we have a problem with a member, we will, in love and humility, go directly to that person to work out the issue or go to someone in leadership to act as a mediator.

We understand that yelling at or talking down to a child is not an appropriate way to discipline and will not be tolerated at Liberty Classical. If a child/student is not responding respectfully to a teacher, he/she will be taken to his/her parent or to one of the board members.

We understand that, as parents, we are the primary teachers of our children. We will ensure that our children complete any work given by the tutor to the best of their abilities.

We have read and understand the dress code policy and commit to upholding it throughout the entire year.
